Synopsis
The Sessions explores the fascinating relationship between Mark O’Brien, a poet in an iron lung, and Cheryl Cohen-Greene, a professional sex surrogate.  The film is set in Berkeley, California, in the 1980s and is based on a true story.

By the age of 36, Mark, confined mostly to an iron lung as a result of childhood polio, is eager to lose his virginity before his use-by date. He has made a modest living out of poetry and journalism and finally has the wherewithal to discover his sexuality.

On the advice of his therapist and with the guidance of his priest, Marc contacts Cheryl who, aside from her unusual occupation, is a typical soccer mom. Their journey together proves that sex is only the beginning.
